Weatherby’s Novice School for Women is for the person that has never tried fly fishing or someone that has learned casting but has never really caught any fish. We start at the beginning – learning about rods, lines, reels, leaders, tippet and flies. On the water we will cover fly selection, reading the water, wading safety, entomology, knots, a little bit of fly tying and a whole lot more! Focus will be fishing with nymphs, streamers, and dry flies for landlocked salmon and brook trout in Grand Lake Stream as well as streamers and poppers for smallmouth bass in the surrounding waters. So little time and so much to learn!  This is just the beginning of a life-long pursuit.

Arrive June 24 for cocktails and dinner followed by three full days of instruction and fishing.  Depart after breakfast on June 28.  Included will be four nights lodging and meals, beer, wine and use of Orvis fly rods, waders and flies.  Not included – tax, gratuities for staff and instructor. One time 20% discount on Orvis product for participants.  Group size limited to 6.
