Maine’s Best Smallmouth Bass Fishing

Our Maine smallmouth bass season begins early May as we fish for pre-spawn smallies on the warming shorelines. The pre-spawn is followed by the explosive top water smallmouth fishing during the spawn by May 20.

50-100 fish days are common while fishing top water lures or popping bugs for Maine’s hard-fighting smallmouth bass.

July, August and September provide high quality fishing, either with live bait, flies or artificial lures that will excite novice to experienced anglers.  We focus our efforts around weed beds, rock piles and deep holes.

Our largest smallmouth bass usually come to the canoe during this time of year with numerous four to five pound smallmouth bass caught each season.
