2020 Maine Moose Hunt Tag

Bull Moose Hunt For Sale – This is not a lottery.  Weatherby’s has a bull tag for zone 19 – Grand Lake Stream area – for the September 28 – October 3 season, 2020.  This permit will include full-service lodging, dining and guide service for one or two hunters.

Maine Zone 19

West Grand Lake and Weatherby’s sit in the middle of zone 19 and offers hundreds of thousands of acres of commercial timberland, lakes, bogs, streams, and rivers to hunt.  We also have exclusive, gated access to tens of thousands of acres, home to several trophy class bulls.  Zone 19 is considered a high success zone with the potential to harvest a 50+ inch moose.

Highest Bidder

The full-service moose hunt will be sold to the highest bidder. Bidding ends June 15, 2020.  To enter a bid for this full-service hunt, please mail your bid with name, address and phone to Weatherby’s Moose Hunt, 112 Milford Road, Grand Lake Stream, ME 04668.

Email submissions will also be accepted. Bids will be opened and reviewed on 8 PM on June 15 and the winner will be notified.

We are offering a Buy It Now price for the moose tag of $20,000.

When a Buy It Now bid is completed and deposit is paid, the email and mail-in bidding process will end.

The Buy It Now price includes Zone 19 Moose tag, guide service, lodging and meals.

Eligibility Requirements

Hunting License Required – Applicants must be eligible to obtain a Maine big game license by opening day of the moose hunting season.

Minimum age of 10 years by opening day (9/28/20)

Three-year waiting period – if you have won a permit in the Maine lottery in the past three seasons, you would not be eligible to purchase this tag from Weatherby’s.  If you won the state auction, you would be eligible, however, purchase of Weatherby’s tag would require a three-year waiting period for the general Maine moose lottery moving forward.  The restrictions do not apply to sub-permittees or alternate sub-permittees.

Upland Hunting Gear List

  • BOOTS!  Good ones – two pair.  They do not need to be insulated for October hunting.  I like one pair leather and one pair rubber for wet conditions.  Make sure you can walk in them without getting blisters.
  • Light weight upland pants or chaps
  • Mid-weight long underwear bottoms
  • Good wool socks (smartwool or similar)
  • Mid-weight long underwear top
  • Wool, flannel, chamois shirt, long sleeve…
