Top 10 Nymphs
Grand Lake Stream, Maine
Dead drift, dead drift, dead drift. Did I say dead drift? Critical technique when nymphing anywhere, but especially on Grand Lake Stream in Maine. I prefer short upstream cast, floating lines with no strike indicator, however an indicator can be useful for novice nymphers. You may fish single fly, double or triple. I tend to go double with the lead fly larger and heavy followed by a smaller caddis imitation to size 20. Add split shot ahead of the lead fly in fast water. Tie a dropper to the bend of the hook with 5x tippet with a clinch knot.
